Betsy Coblentz

My name is Betsy, I use she/her pronouns.

I am passionate about body positivity, breaking stereotypes, and promoting and uplifting non-traditional beauty standards, every BODY deserves to be loved and valued, especially by yourself. When I first tried yoga in my early 20’s I thought it wasn’t for me because “I couldn’t sit still!” This was the first lesson yoga taught me. Finding peace, comfort and stability in the lack of movement was where healing had to start for me. As I continued trying different styles of yoga I was touched by many of my teachers and brought to tears on my mat as the asana practices could help me connect to my core being on the deepest of levels, weaving together my body, heart, breath, mind, and spirit I was inspired to bring this same healing medicine to others.

After completing my first 200 hour yoga teacher training I knew I was thirsty for more! I found BUTI yoga in 2022 and was immediately excited for the ways in which it combines yoga and tribal exotic dance into the asana practice. I got my first BUTI yoga certification in Primal Flow in 2024, a practice that focuses on balancing the masculine and feminine energies in all of our bodies. When we are operating from a place of control we are coming from our wounded center. When we find the balance between our Yin/Yang and marrying these energies together we begin healing. I truly enjoy leading others on the mat to open up and move in a primal, wild, and even crazy ways, free from the fear and judgement of labels and expectations and letting go of control.
